Welcome Friday and welcome to my blogpost dedicated to the living on the countryside. I found recently some adorable shops and things that I absolutely wanted to share with you and to – hopefully – give you another idea of living in second life. And what I found quite interesting: when I put together the stuff for todays blogpost I found myself in a rather peaceful mood which is rare, cause usually I am hopping from location to location and grabbing things and do all in a rush. Today it was really slowed down and, yeah, relaxing. See – that is the thing the country does to people. Even if it is virtual.
Since I already knew the topic of todays post – because of several items I gathered within the last couple of days – I needed a look for the blog entry. So I got myself this tan tweed jacket from Kauna that comes together with the shirt and the tie. The pack is rather surprising, because you do not get only one shirt and tie but a splendid selection of colors and patterns for the tie. One warning tho: you can not wear the shirt alone because it is crafted for beeing worn under the jacket. But that is fair enough since I did not even expected the shirt in the package. I completed the look with the slim cut denims in used blue from 22769 ~ casual couture and the white sport shoes from GizzA.
Peaceful living: -Hanaya- just released these adorable Bird Feeders in several options (for hanging from a tree, with the old table and with a stand). The birds are included and they tweet – so this alone sets you in the right country mood. The wonderful house is, believe it or not, a gift from [CIRCA] for the Homestuff Hunt – and I strongly recommend getting this one (if you have not the time to do the complete hunt which I also recommend). The Studio Coast Loft ist wonderful build and has two big rooms and also a second floorlet where you i.e. put a bed in. The roof is completely glass and what I love most about the building is that you have two entrances and that the rooms are seperate but also float within each other with holes in the wall.
Virtual homes are not only furniture cluttered in different rooms. The best homes in my opinion have something like a personality and I decorated the Studio Coast Loft to represent of course myself the best. I have already told you about this adorable new shop I found here. BoatHouse have all kind of neat stuff to bring personality in virtual rooms. I got there the Book Stacks and also the potted droopy flowers on the table. The shelfes, the table, the angel ceiling light and the crow chair are from Mysterious Wave – another cute shop I ran into. The designs are kind of quirky, but also lovely. You will find a lof of shelfes there, all with a different theme. And Mysterious Wave is extremely fair priced. So if you need that little extra for your room – you better check the store out. Oh – and the empty flower pots in the first picture are also from this shop and they are just 1 L$!
In the third picture you see what I meant with rooms seperated but floating in each other. You have this breakthru you also can decorate like I did with another angel lamp from Mysterious Wave and the Matriochka creations from :NuDoLu Voyage: I got myself from the Gallery Gift Shop. The cushions on the floor are from [AF] and they look just so real to me. By the way: If you join the [AF] group you can get the fatpack of these cushions for free and they are highly decorative.
And talking about the decorative side of second life: I am a missionary for art in SL. The two paintings you can see in the last picture are from Gabrielle Swindlehurst who just has an exhibition today, 31st August. The opening party will be 12 – 2pm at the Art India Gallery. And of course Gabrielle is selling her art there also. And just to wash all your doubts away: when it comes to fair pricing Gabrielles art is another good exapmle for that. At the Gallery Gift Shop you hardly find a painting from her that is more then 20 L$. So check her exhibition out!

Hello Sunday! In todays post I will focus on enviroment and stuff that make our virtual lifes comfi and give us a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Home, sweet home. When I browsed some flickr streams I found an adorable little house as groupgift from a shop I have never heard about – which is not that hard since SL is so big. Sweet Harmony – or short [SH] – give away this way cute little home to their group members. And it is all kind of awesome. I will show you details shortly.
But talking about groupgifts: Behind me is the fabulous Teardrop Bed from Trompe Loeil. And – you guess it already – it is a gift to the subscriber group of Trompe Loeil. It has 4 animations (3 sleeping and one sitting) which are pretty much unisex. I already mentioned the little plants I got from the Lucky Board at Lithium. And again it is a good idea to join this group also, because Lithium has a second Lucky Board that changes every 5 minutes (instead of 30 minutes like the “regular” one).
The painting behind me is from the new Gallery Gift Shop. Again it is from Gabrielle Swindlehurst and it is called “Mountains Of The Moon”. There is one thing about living in second life that always puzzeled me: people seem to spend so much effort for finding the fitting furniture and skyboxes but seem to forget about art. And in my opinion some stunning piece of art makes some plain four walls something like a home. So having that in mind you simply have to go to the Gallery Gift Shop. First you find stunning artworks there and second the pieces are definitely not overpriced – and they also change with every rotation. Just like the other items you can find there.
One word about the outfit I am wearing today: The loose shirt is from NYU and it has absolutely convincing folds and looks just too real to me. The bermuda shorts are from the Mens Dept. – and guys HURRY UP! The August round is closing shortly. The shorts are from 22769 and I especially like the realism and the texturing of those.
But coming back to the house as promised above. You see the pop art painting in my back? Yes – this wall art is part of the whole house – and it gives the whole building such a nice and joyful contrast, especially with the red wall and the curtains which are also a part of the house. The texturing is more then reasonable and there are a billion reasons why you should get this group gift – for me it was definitely when I saw the pop art faces.
The lights above me are from CIRCA and are usually outdoor dandelion lights – but well… for me they work indoor also. The dandelion lights come in 4 sizes from S to XL and they are copy. Shown here is size M. And the chair is also from Trompe Loeil and is the gift in the Homestuff Hunt.
And some final words on the scenery: it is again from Garden Of Dreams. The dreamscene “The Field” is probably the most functionable skydome for people who are just looking for some place to live. Because it basically is – a field. You can do it like I did and put a house inside and you have the perfect enviroment that will definitely stun all your friends. And since the dreamscenes from Garden Of Dreams are also as permanent skyboxes in the package you simply have no reason to live in dull four walls with nothing outside.

Welcome to my kind of Asia inspired Friday blogpost: I mixed for this one finds from the Mens Dept. (hurry up – it closes end of this month for a new round) and from the currently running Gallery Gift Shop – so here we go:
The “Buddha Garden” from KIDD was already in the last round of the Gallery Gift Shop but somehow I managed to always forget about it since it matches just so perfect in the enviroment of the new Gallery Gift Shop. However – I remembered it again and finally bought it. And it is a masterpiece. Not only that is very decorative – it also has some wonderful poses (female and male ones) included and it is also only 20 prims. The size of the Buddha Garden is about 12 x 12 meter – so it is also not too big. In other words: it fits everywhere. The Buddha Garden comes no copy and no mod but transfer – so it makes a perfect gift also!
The kimono I am wearing is one of the items from [Sheep Door] for the Mens Dept. and it is mesh in three different sizes. I am showing you the style Mizutama. The Yukata is well rigged and also a brilliant idea. I love the playful polkadot patterns on this one very much. The blindfold is the item of DownDownDownin the Gallery Gift Shop – and you can get it in very different styles and colors. Bloody ones are also offered which make great items for roleplay.
List of stuff:
Hair: Dura – The 2nd year Anniversary hair (Black)
Blindfold: DownDownDown – Blindfold (for the Gallery Gift Shop)
Happy Humpday to all of you !
Today I found a little time to blog, and not fighting with damn graphic-drivers.
So, I use this chance to show you some of the goodies you can find at the currently running Swimming Pool Blue Hunt, organised by Monochrome Hunts. In this Hunt every Huntgift costs you 5L$ – but you find all the items, with hints and SLurls to the shops displayed on the hintpage for the Swimming Pool Blue Hunt. Hope you enjoy this Hunt as much as I have done before.
Let us start with the finds, I want to show you in todays blogpost: ready for new interior? The this great couch from MM(home). The sofa comes prefilled with 8 sitting animations -for two avatars- and can become adjusted by menu. With only 12 Prims, it is not to primmy so it should fit into your home!
Let us start with the unique top. As you can see, one arm is covered and the other not. This gives you an intresting shape, and it fits to a lot of situations where you can wear your own and creative look. The top comes in mesh female standard sizing.
The pants I’m wearing are from 22769, yes I was searching for the huntgift and ended up shopping there (again – *sigh*). But, thank god I found out after finding the blue glowing palette, that they give away in the Swimming Pool Hunt my trousers in a lightblue color. But, that didn’t match to my todays look so I choose to wear the black one, wich is available from different colors they offer for just 130L$.
The art you see on my wall today is also a gift from the Swimming Pool Blue Hunt. This great piece can be found at SFW Industries. This grouped photoframe is mesh and only 1 in LandImpact. The images shown in the frames are from the underwater photographer Elena Kalis.
Now it’s time for small sidenote: you see the great pink lipstick I wear in the pictures? It’s a new groupgift from Curvy Silhouettes by Xanthe and her lovley inworld store CS-Shapes by Xanthe Audeburgh. You know Xanthe she loves to surprise their groupmembers, and while I was taking pictures she sent it out. Thank you!
Now it’s about to start the hunt yourself, but first – here are the credits for todays items:
I do love hunts in SL. And to be honest – not neccessarily for the gifts but to find new shops and places I have never heard about. And of course: if the gifts I gain through the treasure hunt are good you definitely will not hear me complaining. The Swimming Pool Blues Hunt is a hunt that fulfills both expectations – to introduce me to new shops and places and also some neat gifts. The theme of this hunt is blue – swimmingpool blue to be precise. Every gift has to have all shades of blue you can find in a swimming pool. Very Edward Hopper. Oh and I should add that every gift is 5L$ what is not too much if you look at the quality of the creations.
But lets start with this neat little mansion from L&K Prefabs: it is extremely lovely made and the texturing is brilliant. Of course not everything in the “Ma Petite Mansion” is blue – you also find white walls in it and the lovely seagrass graphic. Anyways it is a wonderful little house that works quite good as a boat house or a beach shag. It is also mod – so you can alter it to your needs if you have a little building knowledge.
One thing you can get in this hunt is interior design and furniture – and the gifts are high quality and well thought and dedicated to the theme. The art above me is the gift from UrbanizeD. The art to my right is one of the gifts from BoatHouse. The second one is the plaid rug. The shop BoatHouse was completely new to me and I spent quite some time there. I can tell you – it is lovely. BoatHouse offers many furniture, houses and probs with neat little poses and well scripted. You can find rowboats there also like pontons and many things more – and what I have seen all wonderful made. BoatHouse definitely is one of my personal finds in the hunt.
But let’s continue with the prices: the chair I am sitting on is from [kusshon] – and like every furniture from [kusshon] this also is extremely well done. I had a giggle when I browsed through the animations/poses menue because the animations have the names of movie stars (shown above is Clooney). The couch table is from Baffle and is called “Oceanic End Table”. It is another brilliant gift and shows probably best that the creators have well overthought the theme of the hunt and made something very unique out of it. There are starfish and sand inside and even water that moves. The texturing of the table is just so real that you want to grab in your screen. The gift comes with lamp and without lamp (which is a mastepiece of its own).
The sideboard is the gift from Senzafine and it matches just perfect the overall look and feel of all the hunt gifts you can find in this hunt. A wonderful piece of furniture that gives your virtual home an extra.
Finally the dozen long stemmed roses are not from the hunt, but a find at the Vintage Fair. This great piece of decor comes from Hanaya and is – again – a wonderful add to your decor that brings personality and a special touch in your home.
Following the theme of todays blog entry I rushed over to the Mens Dept. to get me the new Poetic Colors mesh eyes “nightfall (nightsky)”. Like always and like with every eyes PC are doing the texturing is from out of this world. I am so glad that Poetic Colors are back again and that they also work with mesh to even improve their flawless work they did before. And at the Mens Dept. I also got me the denim capri shorts from CheerNo and the blue tee from DROP.
