Little House on the Prairie

Little House 1

Hello Sunday! In todays post I will focus on enviroment and stuff that make our virtual lifes comfi and give us a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Home, sweet home. When I browsed some flickr streams I found an adorable little house as groupgift from a shop I have never heard about – which is not that hard since SL is so big. Sweet Harmony – or short [SH] – give away this way cute little home to their group members. And it is all kind of awesome. I will show you details shortly.

But talking about groupgifts: Behind me is the fabulous Teardrop Bed from Trompe Loeil. And – you guess it already – it is a gift to the subscriber group of Trompe Loeil. It has 4 animations (3 sleeping and one sitting) which are pretty much unisex. I already mentioned the little plants I got from the Lucky Board at Lithium. And again it is a good idea to join this group also, because Lithium has a second Lucky Board that changes every 5 minutes (instead of 30 minutes like the “regular” one).

The painting behind me is from the new Gallery Gift Shop. Again it is from Gabrielle Swindlehurst and it is called “Mountains Of The Moon”. There is one thing about living in second life that always puzzeled me: people seem to spend so much effort for finding the fitting furniture and skyboxes but seem to forget about art. And in my opinion some stunning piece of art makes some plain four walls something like a home. So having that in mind you simply have to go to the Gallery Gift Shop. First you find stunning artworks there and second the pieces are definitely not overpriced – and they also change with every rotation. Just like the other items you can find there.

One word about the outfit I am wearing today: The loose shirt is from NYU and it has absolutely convincing folds and looks just too real to me. The bermuda shorts are from the Mens Dept. – and guys HURRY UP! The August round is closing shortly. The shorts are from 22769 and I especially like the realism and the texturing of those.

But coming back to the house as promised above. You see the pop art painting in my back? Yes – this wall art is part of the whole house – and it gives the whole building such a nice and joyful contrast, especially with the red wall and the curtains which are also a part of the house. The texturing is more then reasonable and there are a billion reasons why you should get this group gift – for me it was definitely when I saw the pop art faces.

The lights above me are from CIRCA and are usually outdoor dandelion lights – but well… for me they work indoor also. The dandelion lights come in 4 sizes from S to XL and they are copy. Shown here is size M. And the chair is also from Trompe Loeil and is the gift in the Homestuff Hunt.

And some final words on the scenery: it is again from Garden Of Dreams. The dreamscene “The Field” is probably the most functionable skydome for people who are just looking for some place to live. Because it basically is – a field. You can do it like I did and put a house inside and you have the perfect enviroment that will definitely stun all your friends. And since the dreamscenes from Garden Of Dreams are also as permanent skyboxes in the package you simply have no reason to live in dull four walls with nothing outside.
