Mancave

mancave 1

Greetings. The Mens Dept entered the March round – and as always many brilliant designs and stuff to be found here for a snip. Not only clothing and accessory, but also furniture and decor. But let us start with my todays look: the hair comes from Uw.st and is called “Prince”. Uw.st are the first time in the Mens Dept and they even went with two different hairstyles. The asymmetric shirt I am wearing comes from the guys from 22769 and it is available in 4 different styles. The pants are from Razorblade Jacket. The great thing about those pants is that they come with a HUD – so you can change the color by one mouseclick. My shoes are from [ JP ] .dsg and are the Varial Sneakers – also controlled by HUD.

Like said above the Mens Dept. also holds a lot of furniture with men in mind. So if you want to decorate your mancave you should pay the Mens Dept. a visit. The skybox I shot my pictures today is from 22769 ~ [bauwerk] and it is their share for The Challenge TUDOR (I have written about The Challenge already here.). It is the perfect place for a single man in sl cause it has two rooms and I especially love the ceiling details and the warm colors in it.

List of stuff:
Hair: UW.St – Prince (black) (for the Mens Dept.)
Shirt: 22769 ~ casual couture – Asymmetric Shirt Black/White (for the Mens Dept.)
Pants: Razorblade Jacket – Cargo Faders (for the Mens Dept.)

mancave 2

I decided to decorate my mancave with stuff from the Mens Dept, the Arcade and some bits and pieces i bought the last couple of days. The wonderful modern and quirky Pedal Lamp comes from [bauwerk] and also the Corduroy Armchair UK is from [bauwerk]. The chair is available in the Mens Dept. The case is from [HANDverk] and it is the Oz Relic display case from the Arcade. The dresser with the telly comes from [kusshon] and the animalia paper prints are from vespertine – both items are also available in the new round of the Mens Dept.

The couchtable and also the vase, the candles and the rug come from Designer Prims. The hockey wall art was the hunt gift for the 4 Walls Hunt from Cheeky Pea. The floorlamp is from BRENO who recently moved their store – so update your landmarks! The TinTin rocket statue comes from [bauwerk] and the swan chair again is from [HANDverk] and is their share for the current Mens Dept. The magazine holder is also to be found in the Mens Dept. and it comes from MudHoney.

On my working desk – which is the rare item from DIGS for the Arcade you can see the beer and chips tray from [kusshon] and the wonderful Oz Relic “the Wizard’s balloon” from [HANDverk] also for the Arcade. The ground statue is from DownDownDown and can be found in the current Gallery Gift Shop – and also the wall art “nude” by Piedra Lubitsch. The Alien Head comes from [bauwerk] and I so love the name of it: “went deer hunting and came back with that”.

In my bedroom I decided to use the wonderful quirky bed from L&K Prefabs. The bed “morning wood” (yes, you have read right) is the item from L&K Prefabs for above mentioned The Challenge and it is awesome. I really love the idea with the tree and the nightlight. The clothes rack comes from *bbqq* who also joined the Mens Dept for the first time with this item. The wall art again comes from the Gallery Gift Shop and is by Chiana Oh “To Another World”. And the chair again comes from [HANDverk]. The privacy screen with the vitage girls is available in the Mens Dept also and it is from [kusshon].

Homestory

Bedroom and Bath

Happy Sunday everyone. Missed my blog post about houses and furniture? Well good news is here: you will get an overdose today. And you will only see bits and pieces of myself since the main actor indeed is the fabulous new skybox LONDON Appartment from [AF]. And since this skybox is huge (but only has a Land Impact of 58 thanks to mesh) I decided to show you room by room, making a little homestory about how I start my day.

So – obviously we begin in the bedroom (above left). I just crawled out of my snuggly bed from Scarlet Creative. The Noelle Modern Bed comes with multiple poses for single and couple usage and what I like most about it is the fact that you can actually move the poses to your needs. The books and the lamp left to the bed are also from Scarlet Creative and they show so much love for detail. The rounded shelf is from [bauwerk] and will become released soon. And the candles are a gift from Designer Prims.

So I am on my way to the bathroom. And I am wearing the Silk Flare Pants in autumn bleed which are the huntgift for the Autumn Effect Hunt from 22769 ~ casual couture. And talking about gifts. The washing table in the bath is the new Groupgift from the same store. It comes with three animations (washing hands, shaving and brushing teeth). It is the first piece of furniture I know that works with the new Linden Labs Functions like temporary attachments. Because the washing table attaches the razor or the toothbrush to your hands, but they do not clutter your inventory.

After doing my morning stuff I relax a bit in the Retro Bubble Chair (again from Scarlet Creative). And then it is time for getting dressed and a breakfast to start my day…
List of stuff:
Bed: Scarlet Creative – Noelle Modern Bed
Books (on Bed Shelf): Scarlet Creative
Lamp: Scarlet Creative – Adler Lamp
Ballchair: Scarlet Creative – Bubble Chair
Rug: Scarlet Creative – Adler Rug
Candles:  Designer Prims – Candle Set Cream
Shelf: [bauwerk] – curved shelf (soon to be released)
Art: Gabrielle Swindlehurst – Fields Of Gold – Five (for the Gallery Gift Shop)
Books: BoatHouse – Book Stack 5
Washing Table: 22769 ~ casual couture – Good Morning Gorgeous (Groupgift)
Plants: Scarlet Creative – Love Leaf Jug Plant
Pants: 22769 ~ casual couture – Silk Flared Pants autumn bleed (for the Autumn Effect Hunt)

Homestory Hallway

One of the things that really amaze me about the LONDON Appartment is the hallway and I am sure you will love it as much as I do. As you can see in the panoramic shot (the middle one) the texturing is gorgeous and not too heavy.

So – I found my denims and my jumper and are on the way to the living room and kitchen wich are downstairs. One thing about design in secondlife: there are classics within secondlife. Like furniture that was created in admiration of RL designs and I absolutely love that. But there are pieces of furniture that became already classic pieces WITHIN secondlife. And one of these rare items is for sure the Asylum Octo Lovec Chair from LISPs Bazaar. It is strange, it is quirky and it is a beautiful piece of art coming out of secondlife. Everyone needs that chair (or another one out of this series). Another wonderful piece of interior design is the Light Tree from ICONIC you can see in the middle shot in the first floor.

As you maybe know I come from Germany – and around here it is common that we a) have our wastebins in the hallway (in huge, old buildings) and especially for students like I am b) that we do not leave our bikes on the street.

List of stuff:
Chair: [bauwerk] – cube chair leather (soon to be released)
Potato: [bauwerk] – rattan sitting bag indian spice (soon to be released)
Shoes (foreground): :::GABRIEL::: – Driving Shoes Brown (Groupgift)
Boots (behind): DUH! – Brown Suede Workboots (Finding Fab Free Hunt)
Chair: LISP Bazaar – Asylum Octo Lovec Chair
Lamps: [North West] – Petite Lamps (closing sale)
Art: [bauwerk] – Vertex (soon to be released)
Tree: ICONIC – Light Tree
Wastebins: Urban Spirit – Domestic Wheelie Bins (MP Freebie)
Outfit: 22769 ~ casual couture – Autumn Outfit (for the Gallery Gift Shop)

Homestory Kitchen

My mother always said: the heart of every home is the kitchen. And wo am I to disagree. There are a lot of kitchens in secondlife, but this one is definitely my favorite. It comes from Trompe Loeil and is the current item for Collabor88. First – like everything that Trompe Loeil releases – the texturing and the overall look and feel is flawless. What really impressed me a lot was the set up of this kitchen. With the “kitchen planner” – wich is also the rezzer for the kitchen – it is so easy to move the complete furniture to the right spot. One click install – this kitchen definitely fulfills this task. Of course the kitchen comes with cute animations and of course there is a version available with NSFW animations also. The kitchen is available in green, orange, purple – and shown here teal.

Noticed the hot water maker on the kitchen? This is a gift that can be found at the Gallery Gift Shop and it is – like the whole event – way cute.

List of stuff:
Kitchen: Trompe Loeil – Timeless Kitchen (for Collabor88)
Hot Water Maker: Gift at the Gallery Gift Shop

Homestory Livingroom

Finally breakfast. I am sitting on the Adler Dining Table from Scarlet Creative – and it is way cute. First of all I love to combine rustic furniture with way modern things and second the table rezzes different meals – from breakfast to sushi – there is everything you can dream of. The Classic Fireplace also comes from Scarlet Creative and the drawers are the plain version from the last cycle of the Mens Dept. by floorplan. The skyline picture is again a gift you can get at the Gallery Gift Shop. And the lamps are a freebie from nordari.

It is time to get prepared for work. But first I rest a bit on my new won Baroque Bench Popular at the Arcade Gatcha Event. The bench – again – comes from Trompe Loeil and it is super cute and it comes with 15 different animations. My students bag – where i carry my notebook and books and all student stuff with me comes from NYU and is from L’accessoires. Look at the detailing on this bag – isn’t it wonderful? Finally the water dispenser was the huntgift from Nudolu for the Gallery Gift Shop Anniversary hunt.

Well – that was a lot! I hope I showed you enough of the fantastic LONDON Apartement by [AF] that you start drooling already. Please note that I did some minor modifications on the skybox since I removed the panorama view over London for lighting purposes.

List of stuff:
Table and Chairs: Scarlet Creative – Adler Dining Table
Lamps: nordari – Recycling Lamps
Fireplace: Scarlet Creative – Classic Fireplace
Art: Gift at the Gallery Gift Shop
Drawers: floorplan – chest of drawers / neutral (for the Mens Dept.)
Bench: Trompe Loeil – Timeless Kitchen (for the Arcade Gatcha Event)
Waterdispenser: Nudolu – former gift for the Gallery Gift Shop Anniversary hunt – no longer available
Bag: NYU – Minimal High Fashion Couture – Neutral Leather Briefcase (for L’accessoires)
Antler: LISP Bazaar – Antler Candle White
Prefab: [AF] –LONDON Appartment

Contempo

Contempo

It is funny how words can hook you up. Contempo is such a word. Trompe Loeil just released a new subscribo gift called “Contempo Frame” which you can see hanging above me. This came in quite handy since I wanted to decorate the prefab I want to blog about today anyways. And since Contempo is kind of a catchy word I tried to figure out what it actually means. And I failed! Because everyone seems to claim Contempo for different things that are not really connected to each other. Fact is: Contempo was a little magazine published 1931 – 1934 wich was quite influental on modernism. Another fact: Contempo is the catchy short for Contemporary and finds its usage in fashion, furniture, art and music. Even the landstream of the sim I am taking pictures on has a show called “Contempo”. To keep a long story and research short: I think that Contempo is a loose definition of a style that is quite clear structured.

Talking about groupgifts: The bench I am sitting on is a group gift from LITHIUM and is quite cute and also fits in the contempo-vibe of todays blog post perfectly. And the gift from Trompe Loeil also matches of course the contempo furniture set you can find at FaMESHed.

My todays look comes straight from the Mens Dept. The denims and the check shirt are both mesh from [The Blink] and they come as set. Both can be worn seperately. I especially like the folding of the denims a lot. Another example how mesh encourages designer to create an extra realistic look in their creations.

List of stuff:
Outfit: [The Blink] – Grey Plaid Shirt (for the Mens Dept.)
Bench: :::LITHIUM::: – bench (Group Gift)
Frame: Trompe Loeil – Contempo Frame (Subscribo Gift)

Contempo

Todays pictures have been taken in the wonderful “Sound City” Studio Build by [CIRCA] – a modern house/skybox which has about 20 squaremeters Footprint and includes a small gallery. You can see a better picture of the prefab on the bottom of this post. But the most interesting part for sure is: The house is completely for free in the Finding FabFree Hunt. So if you are looking for a nice home – this definitely is worth searching for!

I combined the interior decoration from many things I have in my inventory. There are the flower sofas from LITHIUM which became a true SL classic already. The decor vase with the branches are from Designer Prims and the sequented screen in the background is from [AF]/ICONIC and also can be found in the current Mens Dept. The wall art is from Gabrielle Swindlehurst and can be found either at the Gallery Gift Shop or at her Exhibition at the Art India Gallery.

List of stuff:
Art: Gabrielle Swindlehurst – Fields Of Frost (for the Gallery Gift Shop)
Screen: [AF] – ICONIC Screen (for the Mens Dept.)
Sofas: :::LITHIUM::: – Flower Sofa
Decoration:  Designer Prims – Vase with Branches

Monochrome

Monochrome 1

If you read our blog for some time you might have noticed that my blog posts are often influenced by my Real Life. I just noticed that by reading back some of my older posts. And even if I try to avoid it somehow bits and pieces pop up anyways. I guess that is my style of writing then. Well todays blog post is no exception, cause I spent the last two days at home, banned from second life, to write an essay for university. And I spent hours nailed on my chair on my working space. And now I log back in SL to show you: a working space.

Apple Fall – or short [AF] – are joining the current September Cycle of FaMESHed and they offer this monochromatic set. It is completely meshed and I absolutely love the patterns and the black and white feel of it. Of course you can purchase every single piece by its own, but i recommend to buy the whole set, cause it just matches perfectly together.

Monochrome 2

The set contains a table, the zigzag chairs, a fireplace the lamp, pictures and decoration, a sideboard and many other wonderful things also. And I guess you agree by watching the pictures that the texturing of these items is wonderful. It is not too loud and still nails the style perfectly. And by the way – you can see all participating designers for FaMESHed here.

According to the monochromatic topic I chose my todays outfit. The new released two piece suit from Kauna is rich on details – even the buttons are real and meshed. And the Otis Oxford shoes from Miamai in black/grey just match the overall look perfectly.

Monochrome 3

No doubt that mesh has a great impact on furniture designers also. And there is yet another great furniture store that just opened its gates: { { BSD Designs Studio } } is – right now – a small store but with the potential to grow really big in sl. What I personally like about the designs is on the one hand the quirkyness and on the other hand the functionability of them. My favorite piece is definitely the “tree table”. It is minimalistic but on the other hand splendid with details. Another good example what mesh can do and how it will change how we live in second live. The bonsai tree is also part of the FaMESHed set from [AF]

For todays blogpost I used again the wonderful – also completely meshed – With Aroha (Love) House from Designer Prims I blogged about in my last post.

Monochrome 4

List of stuff:

Outfit: Kauna – 2pc Suit Grey

Shoes: MIAMAI Otis Oxford Black Grey

Working Room Set: [AF] – Vogue or something Set (for FaMESHed September)

Couch Table: { { BSD Designs Studio } } – Tree Table Silver

Prefab: Designer Prims – With Aroha (Love) House (mesh)

Big Weekend

Big Weekend 1

Hello weekend – finally. Todays blogpost has the title “Big Weekend” and indeed it is huge, tremendous, splendid… you name it. Firstly this will be one of the longest blogposts I have ever written so far because – second – there is so much going on in SL right now that it is hard to keep track. The Summer Season is over and Autumn Release Madness starts exactly today.

Okays – first my todays look. Casual, isn’t it? Well as some of you might have heard already there is a “new” kid in town called FATEwear. Damien Fate, who is one of the first creators who got into rigged mesh clothing – amongst many things he is responsible for a lot of releases from ColdLogic – finally decided to start his own brand. And now comes the good news: FATEwear is dedicated to menswear! Next good news: the outfit shown above is for free – just jump to FATEwear, subscribe yourself and voila – get your gift. Final good news: make a picture in your new received gear, load it up in the FATEwear flickr group and have the chance to win the WHOLE initial mesh collection of FATEwear.

Not that new but still fabulous are the rigged mesh men feet from Slink. They just fit perfectly and look extremely natural. And the tinting is way easy if you follow the instructions.

List of stuff:
Outfit: FATEwear – Carter (free Subscribo Gift)
Feet: SLink – Mens Natural Barefeet

Big Weekend 2

I have the pleasure to show you in this post the new release from Designer Prims: the complete meshed With Aroha (Love) House. And it is pure luxory. Of course the texturing is flawless but one of the best things about the houses of Designer Prims is the layout. It is the perfect balance between windows and walls to place your personal stuff. The With Aroha House has a small kitchen also (shown left) and so many fotogenic corners that one blog post for sure is not enough to show at least all the fascinating details.

HISpose just released a new pose set called HISbeer. Why, count me in – it’s weekend. Like all poses from HISpose the HISbeer poses are well done and charming. And the idea – as simple as it might sound – is brilliant. The posters in my back are from Iconic and are a groupgift from the shop. So if you are looking for some youthful wall decoration with an unbeatable music taste – check the store out!

Huge window fronts scream for decoration. I am not a big fan of curtains but I found these adorable origami paper cranes. They are mesh and each crane is just one prim – so the perfect decoration item. And also these cranes are a group gift. They come from (Elate!). You do not need a groupslot to join the group since (Elate!) are using a group vendor where you can check past messages – and the origami paper cranes are a past gift in the subscribo.

List of stuff:
Pose: HISpose – HISbeer
Poster: Iconic – Indie Poster (Groupgift)
Decoration: (Elate!) – Origami Paper Cranes (Subscribo Gift)

Big Weekend 3

A few hunts start this weekend – and I was especially looking forward to the Four Walls Hunt. The hunt is dedicated to interior design, homes and decoration. Each huntgift is 10 L$ but on the webpage you can see the prices and decide on your own which one you like. Anyways – the gifts in this hunt are brilliant and definitely worth it. Shown above is the  ‘Falling’ Wall Decor fro {what next} It is a way cute wall painting with a mesh ladder and poses – I love this one so much and it brings fun and color to your walls. The lamps above me are also from the Four Walls Hunt. They are from Organica Specialty Trees, meshed and go on and off by mouseclick. Two of many Must Haves from the hunt!

List of stuff:
Decoration: {what next} – ‘Falling’ Wall Decor (Four Walls Hunt 10L$)
Lamps: Organica Specialty Trees – Work Lamps (Four Walls Hunt 10L$)

Big Weekend 4

And yet another fabulous gift from above mentioned Four Walls Hunt: this dinner table including the chairs (animations included) and the decoration are part of the gift from +sanctuaire+ called “Garden Party”. The gift contains also a party room, but the furniture works so well also as stand alone. What I especially love about this set is the excellent texturing – and also it fits perfect either in really modern houses, like the one from Designer Prims, and also in rustic homes.

List of stuff:
Table, chairs and table decoration: +sanctuaire+ – Garden Party (Four Walls Hunt 10L$)

Big Weekend 5

This adorable shelf is also a huntgift from the upcoming “What Do You Sell” Hunt. And it is no wonder why it matches so perfect the house from Designer Prims because – it is the gift from Designer Prims. The “Funky Shelving” comes with all accessories and also with animations and is definitely a brilliant gift. Make sure you check the store hintgiver for the hideout!

List of stuff:
Furniture: Designer Prims – Funky Shelving (WDYSH Gift)

Big Weekend 6

Finally it is time to show you the With Aroha (Love) House in all beauty after strolling through the inside. And you can see that the design is on the one hand modern, but also very sophisticated. You have a ponton with table, plants and chairs to meet with your friends outside. Of course you also have a pool and the balance between the main building and the entrance is marvelous. Definitely one of the best houses in SL so far and if you are looking for a new home I strongly recommend this one. Like said above – even with that amount of pictures I simply can not do the build justice cause there are still so many corners I have not showed you yet. But best idea anyways is to go to Designer Prims and see it for yourself.

List of stuff:
Prefab: Designer Prims – With Aroha (Love) House (mesh)
