Beachwear

bathing_season_1

Summer in RL means summer in secondlife also. Strange enough, cause somewhere always is summer in secondlife. But nevertheless: the bathing season has begun. And it is perfect timing, cause what is the best clothing to showcase a skin? Right, beachwear. So let us start with the skin first: Belleza has joined the Mens Dept. with a special edition of the Ewan Skin. And you can see it in all different views in this blogpost. To tell something completely new about the mens line of Belleza is simply impossible – the skin is, of course, flawless. It gives me a bit older appearance then my regular skin, but I kinda like it a lot. What I personally love about the Belleza men skins is that they are not uber-buffed. So you do not look like a bodybuilder with this one. And an absolute plus always with Belleza is the fine definition of the face. And now comes the best part: you can get the skin for just 150 L$ at the Mens Dept! And of course demos are available.

Another major brand in SL is Miamai – famous for their quirky but always wearable designs. I absolutely fell in love with the new Swimmwear Collection. The swim trunks are mesh and you can either choose between retro patterns like above on the Aron Shorts or vibrant colors (shown below).

bathing_season_2

The Steve Shorts from Miamai are also mesh and have a more boarderish look. Perfect for every kind of pool- or beach party and definitely one of the must haves this summer. The Little Pool House comes from Designer Prims and is the current Groupgift (the Group is free to join). It is a small beach house with pool and two rooms that – typical for the designs of Designer Prims – float into each other. A brilliant prefab – especially as free gift!

Here you can have a close look on the face of the Ewan Skin from Belleza and also of course on the rigging of the Hawaii Blue Steve Shorts from Miamai since the pose I choose is rather extreme. But as you can see – no distortions or spikes. The shorts just fit perfectly.

In the last picture finally I show you something from the inside of the Little Pool House. And here comes another strength about the layouts of Designer Prims: the prefabs are not overtextured or convulted. It leaves you many room for your own personality and ideas. On the left I am wearing the Nylon Melon Steve Shorts and on the right another find from the Mens Dept.: the Pool Party Briefs from Lazybum with sculpted bulge and drawstrings. The beanbags are from [kusshon] and are also available at the Mens Dept.

Individualism

The one thing that makes the Mens Dept. truly special is the fact that you not only can get high quality clothing for men there. It is a big part and this also is absolutely appreciated. Next to the Mens Dept. there is no other event for guys that shows brilliant state of the art designs in menfashion on the grid. Nearly every piece is mesh – and that speaks loud. And for the non-mesh-clothing: they are extremely well done and by far outstanding.

I absolutely love about the Mens Dept. that you also can get other stuff there. Like furniture, decorations and even buildings – all with men in mind. Look at the Henrik Bench from Cheeky Pea. It is a typical Locker Room bench with 6 single and 3 couple poses/animations. It is lovely in its straightforward design. The Haywood Pipe Shelf from PILOT is one of the most brilliant ideas for a piece of furniture ever and I strongly recommend everyone to get a copy. Not only that the idea is fantastic – it is also extremely rich on details as you can see on the connector and the socket, but also on the lamp and the books. You even can turn the light on and off by mouseclick. The potted plants are from the Midnight Mania at Lithium, the vase with daisies are a gift from Designer Prims (you can get it at their landingpoint) and the artwork is – again – from my number one art provider The Gallery Gift Shop.

And now let’s go back to the clothing: 22769 ~ casual couture again set a high mark on quality mesh clothing. The chinos and the poloshirt is not only a perfect casual combination – they are also extremely well done and textured. The “behaviour” of the mesh is very natural and so is the folding on the textures. This definitely shows me that mesh never fails to surprise me. I also love the fact that 22769 offers – again – three different styles of chinos and three different styles of poloshirts at the Mens Dept. And also I really adore the mint color on the poloshirt which gives it something very summerish.

As backdrop I used the wonderful mesh skybox from Designer Prims I blogged about yesterday.

Home Alone

home_alone_1

Finally Friday! Perfect time for relaxing and preparing for the weekend. And guys – honestly – there is A LOT happening this weekend. I am talking about new releases, a complete new round of the Mens Dept. – one of the best collections at this fair so far – and about must haves!

You see me playing my guitar on my complete new beanbag. The beanie – not for your head, for your bum – is one of four beanbags from [kusshon]. And there are ubercute animations included. Like – seen above – the guitarplaying. The guitar also comes in 2 trans versions – so you can give it away to your friends for a lil jam session. Brilliant idea from the designer. The beanie can be found tomorrow in the Mens Dept. The picture in the background comes from Gabrielle Swindlehurst and it is called – you guess it already – FIVE. I found that one for a snip at the Gallery Gift Shop. The neat little tree is from the Midnight Mania Board at Lithium. By the way – Lithium moved – update your landmarks! Link – like always – below. And for the bookshelf… hold your horses for another few minutes – I will tell you something about it soon.

home_alone_2

When I am at home I usually do not dress up – and what you see in this picture is pretty much me in RL. Some sloppy tee and loose pants, or in other words: comfi wear. The loose pants are from [Sheep Door], is mesh in different sizes (female sizes also included) and is also available at the Mens Dept tomorrow. There are three colors to choose from: Navy (shown here), Beige and Red. And while we are at it: of course the sloppy tee can also be found in the Mens Dept. It is from Havok, also mesh, also variable sizes and available in Khaki (shown above), Navy, Black and Grey. I especially love the pattern on the shoulders – it gives the shirt a little extra.

home_alone_3

Come a little bit closer – there is even more I have to show you. The necklace/rosary is from KOSH and KOSH are joining the Mens Dept for the first time this round. Have I already told you that the new collection of the Mens Dept. is the best so far? Well I guess you now get a picture. Need more proof? Sure thing: look me deep in the eyes. Vibrant color, wonderful made, a masterpiece of its own. It must be Poetic Colors. But wait! It was kinda quiet around Poetic Colors for a while now, wasn’t it? Well – Poetic Colors is back with a bang – and with a complete new collection of mesh eyes. And Poetic Colors also joined the Mens Dept.

Soo – remember the bookshelf above? Well – here it comes: The bookshelf is included in a complete new prefab from Designer Prims. It is a skybox – or a groundhouse if you like. It works brillant both ways. And… It is completely mesh! The Romantic Loft Space has a 30 x 16 footprint and has incredible features like blinds you can turn on and off, texturechanger and of course a security system. And now comes the best part: The Loft is only 20 (TWENTY!) prims! It is big, it is beautiful and you can put furniture and art galore in it, cause with 20 prims you really have to clutter your space to get to your prim limit on your parcel. To get a glimpse of the brilliant prefab look below – and believe me, since I chose this one to be my new home in SL – you will see some more pictures of it. Soon!

Cheesecake

cake_1

Weekend boys and girls – and even better: A new exhibition in the Gallery Gift Shop. And like always you find also this time some wonderful and quirky items there. The Gallery Gift Shop is now in its 12th round – that means: end of this new exhibition the art and sale fair is one year old! Not bad for secondlife where you can literally watch sales events come and go.

Today I am wearing the contribution from 22769 ~ casual couture for the GGS. Some mesh slim cut chefron jeans and a special edition of the mesh open shirt and tee combination. The matching glasses come from {Kiro} and are also a find at the GGS.

cake_2

I am having a little pre-celebration for the 1 year anniversary of the Gallery Gift Shop with some home made cheesecake. The cheesecake comes from +9 who finally have an inworld store with neat little things. You definitely should check this store out if you need something like sushi plates, a watermelon bowl, cute sandals or hats – it is a bit of everything and very japanese (I guess) but adorable. And – the cheesecake i.e. is completely free.

The art in the background is one of my favorite pieces of Gabrielle Swindlehurst who is also a contributor at the Gallery Gift Shop. She provides astonishing art from exhibition to exhibition and it is also not that pricy. If you are looking for something decorative for your home – you MUST go to the Gallery Gift Shop because it is all there. Finally the furniture comes from Designer Prims. The carpet has 14 different textures on touch – you can change it whatever matches your room best. The sofas have splendid reasonable animations which made me giggle when I tested them – and you even can change the textures of the pillows and the sofas.

Happy Birthday CHIC

chic2_1

Here I am now with everything prepared. I have my best clothes on (I mean – I even wear a hat), the room is tidy, I have some birthday cocktails prepared and I got some fresh flowers. The only thing missing is the honored guest: CHIC. Because it is its birthday. CHIC turns 2 – well actually tomorrow, but since CHIC is famous and has many, many friends I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate it a day beforehand. Well – good idea, but CHIC did not appear. I mean – I can understand that perfectly cause CHIC is organising a huge celebration by itself and has a lot of things to do. And hey, I am just a small blogger and I really can not expect that CHIC can make room in its incredible busy schedule just to drop by, say hello and have a Manhatten or two. Nevertheless – I am a bit disappointed of course since I spent ages to clean my house, dress up, preparing the cocktails and getting these darn fresh flowers.

chic2_2

The birthday event is called CHIC² and of course all brands which work together with CHIC are having a booth there and offer complete new items. I was lucky to get an early access to CHIC² and the place is overwhelming. Little boxes arranged like a tower and each box is decorated individually by the designers to celebrate together with CHIC. This is an event – sure, but somehow also a state of the art installation of what you can do in second life with a little bit of creativity. You literally can spend ages there to see what ideas the creative minds of SL have come up with. Oh – and you can also shop there for new and exclusive items also!

The vest and shirt is the first release at CHIC² item from 22769 ~ casual couture, and like all new items from the store it is mesh and it comes in male standard sizing. The guys from 22769 offer 4 different color options at the event – I am wearing the white shirt and the brown vest. I like especially the idea that the shirt/vest combinations also are in a trans version at the place – so people can buy the clothing as a gift – and that is what birthdays are about anyways: gifts!

The hat and hair are the new male release by [Atro Patena] and also available at CHIC². And also the “Coffee and Cigarettes” pose from STATUS (part of a pose pack with 10 poses) can be found there. The poses include – of course – the cigarette and the coffee cup.

And now: the brilliant furniture! I saw it and I instantly fell in love. You know that I have a thing for retro stuff anyways, but the Haarlem Deco Set from POST lifted my expectation up to a complete new level. The texturing of every item included in this set is unbelievable. The love for detail is marvellous. And all pieces are copy – so you can rez as much chairs and sofas and tables (and vases with fresh flowers) as you want to. The deco set fits in every home and if you have a thing for style – this is your purchase! Of course the Haarlem Deco Set can be found at CHIC² also.

The wall art behind the sofa can not be found at the birthday party. But with a little hunting you can get it for free: The Footprints of Buddha are the gift from Miss Buccaneer’s Restorations for the Silk Road Hunt 3.

chic2_3

The prefab comes from Designer Prims. The “Little Beach House” is – again – a wonderful open and well constructed house. What I really do love about the houses and skyboxes from Designer Prims is that the house is not “loud textured” – means: the house steps back behind every kind of furniture and decoration you put in. Nearly every furniture you can think of fits in their houses without appearing strange.
