The Return of the Space Cowboy

The Return of the Space Cowboy 1

Inter-planetary good vibe zone… Somehow I seem to find a pattern in my blog posts about the Fantasy Faire 2013 because I find a lot of stuff I would usually not expect from a fair like this. Like this – hm – space suit. Or intergalactic stormtrooper outfit. Well it definitely has something Star Wars-ish as you can tell. Might be the white plastic armory or the futuristic cut. Definitely a unique piece of clothing again.

The Return of the Space Cowboy 2

The thing that puzzeled me first was indeed the unusual cut of the top – with one arm down and the other one up ending in a face shield like of thing. Interesting for sure and definitely a futuristic design. The subtile plastic texturing of the armory parts supports the overall look definitely. The fabric parts have a woolen texturing and are available at the booth of 22769 ~ casual couture in 4 bold colors: purple, red, blue and green. The pants and the jacket can be purchased seperately.

What Lies Beneath

What Lies Beneath 1

If you think the Fantasy Faire is just about fairy wings and colorful merfolk you are definitely wrong. There is a lot of edgy stuff to find there that is dark, bizarre and disturbing – in a good way. ContraptioN is such a shop that offers artificial jars and devil grins. If you want to scare the hell out of your friends – you must pay the store a visit. Also it is fantastic for pictures and obviously for roleplaying also. Shown above is the coat and the mask that are the RLF items from ContraptioN. The coat comes in male and female standard sizing and what is even more disturbing – it has no arms. If your arms are hidden under the cloak or if your character has no arms at all – well Ii will leave that to your imagination. I combined the coat with the brocade leather pants from 22769 ~ casual couture – also available on Fantasy Faire.

What Lies Beneath 2

The absolute showstopper from ContraptioN definitely is the mask. It is wonderful done and has a fantastic texturing and is also creepy – kind of Hannibal Lector meets the Pestilence Doctor. Nevertheless – it is a fantastic made item and as you can see the texturing of the leather is outstanding.

Fashionable Elf

Fashionable Elf 1

And one of the most awaited events within secondlife is on again. Welcome to the Fantasy Faire 2013! And like every year this years Fantasy Faire has a few surprises for you. There are first of all the sims that are – once again – stunning and wonderful. Unfortunately I can not show you any pictures of the sims since yesterday was a black day for SL anyways – means: I crashed with every picture I took. Not to mention rezzing stuff. So you have to believe me. Or even better – go to the faire and check the sims out by yourself. And also – like every year: The sims are up JUST ONE WEEK! After the 28th all sims will be gone for good.

Talking about surprises: Of course you will find shops you would expect in such an event. But this year there are some shops in the Fantasy Faire you definitely would not expect. Brands like FATEwear. FATEwear? The contemporary mesh clothing store for men? Yes – exactly them! And it is not a clash at all because creator Damien Fate obviously has a thing for the fantasy side of SL. First of all he is an elf by himself – not a bow and arrow kind of elf, more the t-shirt and denims kind of longear. And second Damien Fate made some wonderful fantasy related items every now and then in the past like i.e. the Desmond Coat. Also you can find in the booth at Titans Hollow Mermaid Avatars and also Zombie Bodyparts.

Fashionable Elf 2

For the Fantasy Faire – which is a RFL-Event – FATEwear crafted three complete outfits totally matching the theme. Shown here is the Elven Hunting Garb that comes in male standard sizing and an optional cloak. And the boots are also included in the pack. It is needless to say that the movement of the clothing is flawless. I was especially impressed by the subtile texturing and the richness of the virtual fabric. It is a wonderful gear that definitely should not be missed in every roleplay inventory. And it definitely is a keeper.

Another shop you might not expect at an event like the Fantasy Faire is 22769 ~ casual couture. Yet again a casual fashion shop that usually has no connection to the Fantasy scene. Nevertheless you will find some surprising items in their booth also like these elven ears I am wearing today. There are two versions available and I am wearing the pointy elven ears for the pictures. The ears come of course with an easy to handle HUD and alpha layer for the avatar ears.

FATEwear and 22769 ~ casual couture – two shops that prove that the borders between contemporary, casual clothing and fantasy related appearence are thankfully blurry and floating.

The Classics

The classics 1

Even if you are not interested in design or art or furniture – there are some certain pieces you will always remember when you see them. Take this lounge chair i.e.: looks somehow familiar? Seen it in a movie or a television series, maybe? Well – the design is from an american couple called Charles and Ray Eames – and they designed the Eames Lounge Chair sometime in 1956. The chair became instantly a furniture classic after its release – and now it is also available in second life.

I raved yesterday already about the marvellous New York Skybox from 2Xtreme. Nevertheless – a skybox is only a floating bunch of prims without furniture. So the designer behind 2Xtreme also made some chairs and beds and sofas. But not only some neat pieces made of sculpts, meshes and prims: He brings RL design classics in second life like with this Eames Lounger and the Corbusier set shown below. All furniture comes of course with animations and poses.

The classics 2

For my todays look I went again to the Gallery Gift Shop and got myself the striped turtleneck mesh jumper from 22769 ~ casual couture. The stripes are bold and the sweater gives me just that special comfi look and feel. The denims are from the Sanity Falls Hunt and the necklace is from the Fantasy Faire 2012 and proves that you can find wonderful craftings there for your casual look without wearing fairy wings or elfen ears.

Demon on the Graves

Demon on the graves 1

Ever felt devilish? Well – good news – with the Fantasy Faire 2012 you can. De La Soul offer as RFL item this complete demon avatar – coming withskin, eyes, hooves, tail, wings, ears and clothing. It is a decent made avatar. And to be precise – the package includes also a shape for the demon, but i preferred to wear it on my own shape which also is not really an issue, cause the prim parts come with resizer. The hair comes from Tekeli-li and I love the idea with the third eye that moves and blinks. And the jewellery also comes from Tekeli-li.

Demon on the graves 2

The prob comes from Trident. The viking graves come in 3 different options (with different shields) and have this praying animation – shown above – included. And once again: if you have a thing for fantasy and you want to decorate your sim or your parcel you definitely should check out Trident!
